About

Mariëtte Landheer started her musical education in Curaçao, where she spent most of her childhood.
She studied with Louise Gorsira and gave her first concerts at a young age.
She continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague where she obtained the Teaching Musician and Master degrees with Fred Pot and Jean Decroos respectively.
She obtained the chamber music diploma from Dmitri Ferschtman at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam.
She attended master classes at the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Luxembourg Conservatory and the Mainz Conservatory with Aurora Natola-Ginastera, Heinrich Schiff and frequently with Daniil Shafran.

Mariëtte is very active as a chamber musician in various settings such as piantrio, string quartets and recitals.
She also played baroque cello and continuo in various settings.
Especially for her, Micha Hamel composed a solo piece for cello "For all countries".

As a cellopedagogue, Mariëtte is affiliated with Celloschool Bilthoven (private practice) and Music and Dance School Amstelveen.
She is also a member of the jury for the Amstelveen Music Competition for violin and cello. She regularly gives workshops and master classes.
